Moments ago, A9036 Rosenthal/S7082 Hoylman extending the Child Victim’s Act was sent to Governor Andrew Cuomo. The Governor now has 10 days to sign or veto the bill.
This extension to August 14, 2021 ensures that victims who have not yet been able to avail themselves of this groundbreaking law can achieve justice. NYSTLA joined the fight for the Child Victims Act early and has been a dogged advocate to extend the look back period beyond the original date of August 14, 2020.
